Under the same advice, the best answer for third parties is to consider the opposite: If either statement weren't true or could not be proven, I'd be leaving myself open to a host of civil and criminal actions. I'm not into committing some sort legal suicide, even less in front of an audience of lawyers who would relish bringing legal actions against me. I had to wait until the proxies to mention it and that wasn't much fun, either.
