I'll go one step further.. get a 2nd opinion, elsewhere.

I had a heart murmur.. this was attributed to a defective mitral valve. Each & every following year (9) I had an electrocardiogram. No need of surgery, yet.
The heart surgeon asked my how I feel. I said I feel like shit & it was getting worse, but he was not with the follow-up questions.

A year later, I changed my local & heart clinic.
As it turns out, I was given a 'stress test', and soon after, the exploratory camera via my right wrist. The 2nd artery was +80% blocked. The doc said "this is serious".. words of joy to me. A stent was put in.

If I had stayed put & relied on that first surgeon, I would have died not long after.
