|“Bought 2 trillion won in one day because it was cheap” Chinese people can’t stop ‘love for iPhone’|
Chinese consumers "No matter how much we fight with the US, we can't give up the iPhone!"
Chinese people still love iPhones. Even in a situation where the domestic brand Huawei is having a hard time due to the conflict between the US and China, the new iPhone 13 series is generating 'best-in-class' sales. Although it is the iPhone 13 series that is evaluated as not having much change compared to its predecessor, it surpassed the previous iPhone 12 in advance reservations in China.
Apple unveiled the iPhone 13 series on the 15th (local time). Advance reservations have been made in some markets such as the United States and China. The iPhone 13 series consists of 4 models: 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 13, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.
According to Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP), pre-orders for the iPhone 13 series through the Chinese online shopping mall JD.com Apple Store exceeded 2 million units.
This is a 30% increase in sales compared to its predecessor. In the case of the iPhone 12 series released last year, 1.5 million units were sold on JD.com during the same period. Assuming that the basic model iPhone 13 (5999 yuan) sold 2 million units, it would amount to 12 billion yuan (2.18 trillion won). Considering the proportion of sales by model and sales through various online and offline distribution channels, the actual sales amount is estimated to be higher than this.
Since the release of the iPhone 13 series, it has been evaluated that it is not much different from its predecessors. Although the camera and mobile application processor (AP) have been improved, it has inherited the previous iPhone 12 series in design and other specifications and functions. The sales volume in the six months that the stock market is expected to be around 90 million units. It is expected to be reduced by about 10% compared to the previous version. However, in China, it is gaining more popularity than its predecessor.
