|Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple could release its first foldable smartphone in 2024|
There are speculations that Apple could release an iPhone with a fingerprint scanner under the screen in 2023 and its first foldable smartphone in 2024.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities in Taiwan, famous for accurately predicting Apple's new product specifications, predicted this in a memo issued on the 20th (local time), economic media CNBC reported.
In a memo, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple could apply a round hole-shaped design instead of the current rectangular notch (indentation) at the top of the front display of the 'Pro', a premium model next year.
This place has a front camera that is used for taking selfies, etc., but it has been pointed out that it covers a lot of the screen as it is designed in the form of a notch.
Ming-Chi Kuo said the Pro model could be equipped with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera with higher sharpness than now.
In the second half of 2023, it is expected that a fingerprint recognition device that goes under the display will come out. The previous iPhone fingerprint scanner was integrated with the home button, but it seems that this will be a way to recognize a finger on the sleek display.
However, at this point, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the foldable design could become a key sales strategy for high-end smartphones, and it is necessary to see what role the fingerprint recognition function under the display will play in this context.
It also predicted that Apple would launch its first foldable smartphone in 2024, but did not provide specific details.
