Part 27: White Protest Voices - I dreamed of Chrislam. Don’t hate me.

It was long ago at a time when I spent long hours in quiet prayerful contemplation. I was still full of hope in those days.

Chrislam was an inspiration, an idea, I don’t really know nor recall what sparked it. The idea of a shared faith without enmity from the errors of our ancestors seemed ideal.

Chrislam would say: “God is greater than Rome and its Bishop,” and there is no hatred in reply.

Chrislam would say: “God is greater than Islam and its Prophet,” and there is no hatred in reply.

Chrislam would teach that no political state nor its leaders can take the authority to shepherd the Faith, and the Faith cannot take the authority to rule the State.

Chrislam would make a cathedral for Faith inwardly that is always open at only the cost of time. It is unconnected from any place that demands payment to enter and hates the idolatry of places and relics. It makes no initiation demand upon its Faithful and requires Faith in Word, not in men nor cleric. And it doesn’t demand prayer upon the graves and bones of ancestors.

Chrislam would say Science is the language of our Creator and it would speak that language without profanity, knowing that it is the language of life and death, creation and destruction. It would shepherd Science for the living and respect the needs of the living. A simple acorn knows the oak tree is greater by virtue of time.

I can’t see a place like that in my time of life. The assailants who brought injury and disease have succeeded. My time is ending.

Perhaps there are others who have already dreamed and who also know that what has been done and created by men in God’s name is too often unholy.

Perhaps Faith is ripe — ready for harvest and presentation before the altars of the Faithful.

I don’t know and I won’t be there in person.
