Well, I have passed another milestone {finally}

I can finally, confidently walk outside without a cane. Alberta has had good weather the last 3 weeks and there is very little ice on sidewalks with temperature highs for the days somewhere around +5C. If there were ice on the sidewalks I would use my canes as I have fallen on ice many times pre-COVID.

I leave a cane in my car just in case I need one but it is not my first thought now.

I have to get out of my apartment every other day or I would go stir crazy and I went to a second run cinema that was showing Guardians of the Galaxy. I arrived a bit late, the show was just starting. I Had selected a decent seat 4 rows from the back...4 rows down...4 rows down without handrails...oh-oh and it was dark with light strips showing the steps....and holding a small soda and medium popcorn...[big night out]

No accident but it took me 4-5 minutes to negotiate those 4 steps in the dark. Next time I will bring a cane. Going up those steps in the light was fine.

My next hurdle will to have a heart stress test next month. I thought I was to have it a month ago but not fact I had to apply pressure to get it next month...not too happy about that as COVID is suppose to attack the heart and 3 months before I had the attack I had 2 stents put in (one new another was a replacement of a ten year old one).... So I felt that was another vulnerability to go with my age (71) and diabetes.

I am learning that my bout with COVID was more serious than I first believed. I keep hearing about the attacks that last about a week at most...I was in ICU for 3 weeks...then in a non-ICU ward for another week and a general ward after that for one week followed by 6 weeks of rehab and 4.5 months of after-covid effects after that. I found a facebook site of people like myself but we seem to be in the minority.

Well touch wood the heart stress test goes well and I am on the way to be free of this disease...I don't want a second bout of this thing, for sure.
