The futures are good for trading because they are so volatile, especially on economic news.
And that is why they are also dangerous, the volatility. I trade only on signals
that work well in simulated trading over time and use fairly wide stops, raising or lowering them
as the trade goes green. I watch 5, 15 and 30 minute charts along with the daily.
They've gotten more difficult since the 2007 financial meltdown. Algo trading came into
the futures at that time and has continued. You can make good money, but be cautious.
I never trade without some kind of stop. They can move like lightning.
Currency futures are generally a little less volatile: the Loonie and the Peso are worth a
look.
