I think they know that politically it is better to drag it out. What does it say when Trump is impeached for being a danger but Dems don't want to give up the Senate Christmas break to begin impeachment. They want to go on break which of course works for Mitch. There is no incentive for the GoP to dismiss when they control all the rules. I don't see any reason politically for Trump or the GoP to dismiss it. I see a scenario where Mitch and the Senate try to compel Schiff to testify about the whistle blower at a minimum. I am not sure why Nancy is going this route knowing there will be no conviction from the GOP.
