Anyone else remember reading stories like this in 2006-2007? Some obscure corner of the economy no one understood... a few insiders were frightened and warning about them... no one really took them seriously, the economy was doin' swell... the consumer was healthy, even the unemployed were buying homes.

Repo Blowup Was Fueled by Big Banks and Hedge Funds, BIS Says

What the heck is the overnight bank rate? Why was it 10%... that's a lot... and why just for one or two days at a time?

No one seems to know why... but... the consumer is healthy... everything depends on how much the consumer spends on Xboxes and new phones.

and the stock market keeps going up... well on days where trump tweets "fruitful" or "constructive"... on other days like "it may take after the election" it threatens to crash for no actual reason because... everyone knows when a deal is signed the markets will zoom...

everyone knows that.
