Yes that's why I'm skeptical anything will be done.

You are incorrect about socialism though. ALL government is socialist. We have socialist roads, socialist military, socialist nuclear power plants.

Johnny come lately Libertarians are really selfish economic anarchists... I would not want to live in that world which would or will be more like feudalism, rule of the powerful with no democracy. Real Libertarians advocate a minimum of socialism... and some like me advocate socialism only where it would work better, as it has according to statistics in Canadian medicine, and medicine throughout the "socialist" countries of northern Europe. I know Canadians are 2x as happy with their system as we are and I suspect most of the "socialist" countries where everyone is covered are happier.

Anecdotally you can find problems in every system. SI Ron (Soup Nazi)'s experience in Canada is similar to my mom's in the US. Kaiser kept promising her new knees. Like a lot of people from her generation she was taught to never question doctors and they kept putting her off, for months and months she was in great pain, until I finally got fed up and threatened to picket Kaiser with a sign that said "Kaiser is trying to kill my mom"...

Socialist Medicine or Medicare for all does have some problems obviously as does any system. The big problem is having enough or attracting enough doctors, nurses. We do that with money. Bureaucracies by their nature expand, whether government or corporate. The simple answer to that problem is vouchers, which tend to reward the most efficient systems.

Without socialist medicine triage breaks down into a system where the rich butt in front of everyone else and medicine revolves around cosmetic surgery, boob and penis implants and extending life for the rich. Heaven help the middle class if that happens.
