I've read parts of Gilgamesh, but not the whole account which Carl apparently gave us thumbnail. It reads like an ancient cautionary tale, but of the half gods/humans. A scant Bible reference in Genesis 6 speak of the "sons of God" who had children with beautiful women who grew to become "the heroes of old, men of renown." And Numbers 13 speaks of the giants in the land. Gilgamesh is apparently depicted like that.

And like many diverse cultures have who are spread out all over, it has a world-flood narrative.

Carl's handle, Sargon, is found once in the Bible in Isaiah 20. The commentaries say there was no trace of the name outside of Isaiah's lone reference until the modern (1800s) discoveries confirmed it.
