|Microsoft shows off Surface Duo, an Android-powered phone that will launch next year |
Microsoft Corp. MSFT, -2.07% rounded off its fall product launch event Wednesday by showing off the Surface Duo, an Android-powered phone. The device has two side-by-side 5.6-inch displays, making the Duo similar to the the Neo tablet that Microsoft previewed earlier in the day ahead of its launch next holiday season. The Duo, which also launches around the 2020 holiday period, will enable users to do two tasks at once across the two screens. The company said it worked with Alphabet Inc.'s Google to bring "the best of Android" to the Duo device. Microsoft shares were off 2.1% at the close of the company's launch event in New York, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -1.90% down 1.8%.
