Expecting "politicians" to do your work with the voters, your customers, for you is just sad and lazy.

"People" want to be able to access natural gas and they also don't want new pipelines or construction in their city.

These "people" are voters who quite effectively dictate what all politicians think and do.

As always, the natural gas business, or any other entity, needs to directly communicate with the "people" how their needs are your needs. Saying I'm an engineer, not a politician - is you saying you're not a business manager. Without a business manager, engineers and other artists are merely unemployed hobos.

Once the public supports something, politicians already do as well. When you convince yourself politicians control voters, rather than the other way around, you've already lost.
