List of companies doing LENR studies misses one that did it by happenstance. The SAFIRE project was trying to prove the electric sun theory.

This states that the fusion furnace on the sun, largely isotopes of hydrogen fusing to Helium and beyound, is not based on high temperatures and gravitational pressure, but rather electrical plasmas.

They apparently had no idea their work would contribute to LENR. But if you think about it, the corona of the Sun, low in pressure, still seems to be able to generate fusion. (Need support for this...?)
Anyway, their latest work was very interesting--speculation abounds that they stopped publishing and rushed to the patent attorneys when they saw the potential value of what they found.

Start at electricuniverse.info but its also listed in E-catworld.com, where Rossi's work is alternately dissed and supported. The video The Safire project 2017-2018 Update is very interesting.

The crux is that plasmoids, like ball lightening, can ignite fusion in certain element combinations at atmospheric pressure, without the Latice Enabled Nuclear Reaction (LENR) that caused Fleischman and Pons so much infamy.

My purpose in posting this is to reactivate this SubjectMark.
