Easiest thing is a club on the steering wheel. They work and I have only seen 2 cars in my 28 year career in the auto industry where they cut the steering wheel with a hacksaw to take off the club.

Kill switches and other methods of not starting the car don't stop them from breaking in. When they see a club they won't break in, unless they are doing a car prowling. Then an alarm is your best bet. But if they really want the car they will just tow it.
