Windows has come a long way you say.

A tail of two Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz computers.

One running ubuntu 13.10 aka xen1 and one running XP sp3. aks half

toms.homeip.net this is a screen grab of one desk.
There are full size grabs of all 12 desks.

toms.homeip.net /u13.10/fvwm/12desks/00page_01.html

There is a top process in an xterm. The system has been up only for a day at the time of the grab.
There are also grabs of the other 11 desks.

There have been around 8 or 9 totally independent google chromes working for that time.
dozens of xterms, several editors and ..... Also had a xfce4-panel at the top. Turns out there are not 12x1 desk, but 4 sets of 12x1 desks.

Anyway 325 task in memory. long term load average 0.33

Now the xp machine has same CPU and sata drives and hickup often if you try to stream video from it.
half must be rebooted every few days. It is 32 bit xp.

xen1 is 64 bit.
Linux xen1 3.11.0-19-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 11 18:48:34 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
