Yeah the 41mp sensor nokia has is an impressive feat. It has a big sensor for a cell phone, but its still a much smaller sensor than the one that is in the 10mp Canon 40D that CPI uses in a lot of studios. So the Nokia sensor is great compared to other cell phones, but the 40D will win in picture quality hands down, even if you are blowing it up to poster size. Smaller sensors need more light and introduce more noise into the image. I suspect as time goes on they will figure out how to improve the small sensors to where they can compete with the current SLR sensors... but we are definitely not there yet.
Makes sense about as much as saying...

Yeah the V12 Jaguar engine is an impressive feat. It has a big engine for a sports car, but its still a much smaller engine than the one that is in the semis used by commercial haulers. So the V12 engine is great compared to other cars, but the semi will win in hauling capability hands down, even if you are towing up to two extra wagons. Smaller engines have less power and towing ability, so they can't haul the semi's load. I suspect as time goes on they will figure out how to improve sports car engines to where they can compete with the current semis... but we are definitely not there yet.
