Cereplast to Exhibit at MATERIALICA 2012 in Munich, Germany

Cereplast's Hybrid 651D Selected as Finalist in "Material" Category

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct 16, 2012 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Cereplast, Inc.
(CERP), a leading manufacturer of proprietary biobased, sustainable plastics,
today announced the Company's participation as an exhibitor at MATERIALICA 2012,
the 15th International Trade Fair for Materials Applications, Surface Technology,
and Product Engineering. The event takes place on October 23rd through the 25th,
2012 at the Munich Trade Fair Center in Munich, Germany.

Cereplast's Hybrid 651D has been selected for the MATERIALICA 2012 award in the
"Material" category. The silver, gold and "best-of" awards will be announced
during the awards ceremony on October 23, 2012.

MATERIALICA is Europe's top event for material-driven and supplier-oriented
product innovations. The Fair will attract over 600 exhibitors and more than
15,000 people who are expected to attend.

"MATERIALICA 2012 is an important show for us, as it is the largest exhibition of
its kind taking place in Europe this year," stated Founder, Chairman and CEO of

At MATERIALICA, Cereplast will feature their Cereplast Sustainables
("Biopolyolefins(R)") product line, which replaces up to 95+% of the petroleum
content in conventional plastics and can be used in a range of markets including
automotive, consumer goods and electronics, medical supplies, and construction.
Cereplast will also feature its Cereplast Compostables(R) resins, which are
industrially compostable alternatives to traditional plastics that can be used
for single-use disposables and packaging including cups, straws, cutlery and
bags.
