Richard Nixon, in one of the conversations about Watergate in the Oval Office, is heard on the tape saying the defendants have to be able to swear on a "stack of bibles" that they didn't have any knowledge of White House involvement. What's amusing is that Nixon himself when he took the presidential oath of office in 1969 did so literally on a "stack of bibles."
