As far as TXN getting taken over by another company at this point, it doesn't seem there is enough liquidity for that right now.

TI's business model seems flawed. They dumped everything but semiconductor, and then focused on cell phones, and then cell phones became a commodity market.

Once again, they are trying to reinvent the company. With DSP they were aiming a rifle, but with analog circuits it seems more like a shotgun. I would think that when you have myriad products like analog circuits your research and development bill goes up.

I'm thinking that TI needs to merge or acquire something large to get the company focused again.

Like I said, the commoditization of DSP for cell phones seems to have exposed major flaws in their business model.
