Well this thread is not going to see any posts, but
I'll get in a final word. I had no use for the
original Xbox--but the Xbox 360, the latest iteration
anyway, seems to be a decent device and I'm having
some fun with mine--seems to be a very good alternative
to PC gaming (at least if you have something on the
order of a Pentium D or Celeron with marginal graphics).

I've put about 40 hours into The Elder Scrolls Oblivion,
and the only complaint I have with the hardware is
the load time when my character moves from area to area
(especially from zone to zone in the Imperial City).
But it is still only about five seconds.

I don't know whether clearing the xbox cache (hold A down
while game is loading apparently) really helps or not.

xbox live works fine, loading points is no problem, and
all you really need to set that up is a couple of old
NICs and maybe twenty minutes setting up your PC. Rebooting
my PC clears up problems with accessing my cable modem.

I have a few games, "Rock Band" is surprisingly fun,
and for the kids--although the lyrics are a little dicey
at times. The Beatles for Rock Band comes out 9/9/09.
