whoops, start over support.microsoft.com you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installation will not succeed. You would think having a later version would be sufficient en.wikipedia.org In any case, I am become less enamored with the idea of getting the PVR functionality of my PC working--when the xbox 360 is able to do everything else anyway. It gets to xbox live, it can access pictures and music on my PC, video and TV are the only things not working. And who wants a PVR that uses as much power as a PC? My PC has a hot running Pentium D, so that is something around 100W right there. And the idea that I'd use the xbox to control the PC to tune television is pretty wacky to begin with. One point awarded to Comcast, none so far for MSFT's digital convergence buggy software.
