Generally good news, the progression towards faster, denser and hotter chips continues. I believe that at any given level of fabrication technology, the market will demand the highest performance possible pushing circuit densities and frequencies ever higher. Aavid has reasonably accessable potential for portables in North America, Europe, Taiwan and SE Asia. Many portables are fabricated in Japan where Aavid has little penetration; it will take Aavid a lot of work to gain share in Japan for cooling portables. Fortunately, Fluent has a strong foothold on which to build presence. Heat dissipation for PC's has long been an "under-appreciated" problem. I hope that the subject of the article may influence customers to invest in Aavid's commercialization of advanced cooling technologies so they won't miss product market windows. The most efficient product development is that paid for by customers who then have a vested interest in real solutions to real problems. Aavid has a comprehensive and technically sound technology strategy.
