No, it does not seem like the market is exploding. More like imploding. The way the AMTX price has dropped, and everyone selling WSTL. In the communications, August 24, pg 24 issue, it is indicated that regular service "might" begin in summer of 1997.
In other articles this month, it has been indicated that there are problems with use of copper lines with xDSL.
At this web site pulver.com it is indicated that cost effective xDSL will be in 2 to 3 years. This matchs the recent complaints about xDSL being expansive. This is not due to just the hardwares cost, but the human labor involved in the installation, and the big back-office costs associated with xDSL.
