Hi T, Re: Ameritrade hack...............

There had been some notice on this subject once before, maybe a year ago. Not as much information as this recent note, but a reference to something that had happened in several brokerages. Even this email didn't contain a lot of facts, only that they seem to feel they've rooted out the invasive code. No assurance that the SS#s, etc are not being abused, but that they had not as of yet seen evidence of it.

Apparently there was an increase of spam-like emails to several AMTD clients related to investing, so it appears someone compiled a mailing list and probably sold it. I get so much spam (too many years with the same email address, I guess) that I don't know if I'd notice. The ratio is about 25 or 30 to one junk to desired email. Lucky for me the Yahoo mail filter catches most of it.

AMTD's stock is still in my account. The shares I bought in early August at $16.06 to add to the holding are profitable. The overall position is also profitable going back more than a year. So, all's well at this point.

Best regards, Tom
