I and my family just had a 12-day trip to UK from Aug. 9 - 21.

I had to buy a newest Tomtom Go 720 (GPB329 from the store of Wolrd PC in Newport near Cardiff) with UK and west European maps by Tele Atlas because the power supply of my Averatec notebook was broken so I could not use the Microsoft/NavTeq AutoRoute European map with a Holix Slim236 GPS receiver.

The Go 720 first brought us to a barely drivable road where no one travels on the west shore near High Wray when we specified Lake Windermere as destination; Then it brought us to a cemetery when we tried to find a hotel in Falkirk near Edinburgh where there was summer festival so most hotels were full.

Further, the Tomtom Go 720 with Tele Atlas maps does not show any information when we try to find the location of York Mister - the largest Gothic Church north of Alps in the entire Europe in York with its POIs. It also failed to provide any information about the famous Howard Castle near York, England in its POI list.

Finally, it guided us to the back of the Sheraton Skyline Hotel in the Heathrow Airport in London, which is unaccessible to the hotel.

Any one can verify my statement if he/she has a Tomtom.

If someone has a Garmin with Navteq map could make a comparison. However, Microsoft AutoRoute (European's version of Street and Trip) provides all information correctly.

This shows how poor of the Tele Atlas quality is and now I am much more confident in Navteq.
