NG used in ethanol production factoid from Robry..."My two cents worth from research comparing ethanol plant natgas inputs to their respective productive output capacities, ethanol plants use about 1 BTU of natgas for each 3 BTU's of (ethanol) output capacity."

"And do not forget that US fertilizer production is up to 72% plant capacity."

Demand destruction in the US fert business may be history. First, with booming grain prices, global nitrogen capacity is likely to remain tight. The world won't have the luxury of idling a bunch of plants in the US.

Second, many of the former low cost producters of ammonia and its products are experiencing rising gas prices. Ukraine is a good example. China is the worlds larges N producer, and the government there is promising to raise domestic NG prices to world levels.

The fact is, the US no longer has expensive NG. Much of the world is now converging to a single, LNG driven, price for gas. US too.

Anybody else long CF and TRA?
