Anybody familiar w/ German Rams?

They're like bionic hardy large Blue Rams. Any how 6 weeks ago I bought 36 tiny German Rams, they cost $2.75 we get $7.99 for them. 2 weeks ago I had about 7 left, (didn't lose any, never do). They're in a 37 gal tank, which like a 29 but a few inches taller, with a bunch of live plants. I bought 6 jumbo German Rams, all really nice males and put them in the same tank it worked good they all got along . I sold most of the plants so the tank's a little sparse now. This afternoon while I was busy putting away $1300 worth of fish myself, meaning I'm really busy, a customer noticed one small ram and a Jumbo one acting strange. They were a pair and the female was laying a pile of eggs on the gravel, the male was near but we didn't see him fertilize. Looking at my keyboard the male's the size of 3 keys ~1 3/4. The females body is ~ about 1 key, her tail might just reach a 2nd key so she's about 5/8" tops and maybe a 1/4 of his weight. I would've bet anything that it wasn't possible for a female fish to spawn that small and young.
