I was kind of wondering the same thing myself. Since Bush has already wrapped up most of the loose ends in Iraq & Afghanistan, there would be no grave concern if Kerry were to win

I completely disagree. Iraq is far from wrapped up, unfortunately, and everywhere in the Middle East the terrorists are praying for a Bush loss. Not that they know anything about Kerry, but they know that Bush has been fighting them hard and making their life hell, and if he loses they will be able to claim a great victory. Don't bother to tell me that it won't have anything to do with them, that won't stop them from claiming a great victory and being cheered by it. Arabs are great at creating rhetorical triumphs where practical successes are thin on the ground.

The more practically-minded will know that a new Administration will take time to get its act together, and that will guarantee them a much-needed breather. Besides which, Kerry might turn out to be much more conciliating; they could live with a return to Clinton-era policies very nicely.

Don't believe the MSM spin that the terrorists prefer Bush because he makes a better enemy. America will remain very solidly the Great Satan to this crowd whoever leads it. Kerry, who intends, I believe, to lose the war in Iraq by bailing as soon as he can, will do wonders for terrorist recruiting by providing them with the best recruiter of all: a winning cause.
