Well... I'm afraid it goes deeper than "the Jews" --hence my pet coinage, Judeofascism, that is, Judeo-Christian fascism. Indeed, if it were only for the Jews, Israel wouldn't be able to exert such an imperious influence in US politics. Combined with the freakish constituency made up of Evangelicals and Arabo-/Islamophobes of every shade, Zionism has turned into the dark and occult power whose spell over the US diplomacy seems unshakable....
I suspect that America's recurrent warmongering somehow functions as a political escapism for the American society as a whole. Although the US is waging war abroad, in remote wastelands such as Afghanistan and the Middle East, the war fulfills actually a domestic function --in pretty much the same way soccer hooliganism does in Europe.
Both America's warfare and Europe's hooliganism serve as collective outlets for the inner violence of their respective societies... Somehow, European hooliganism is but the castrated, bridled version of America's trigger-happy bullyboy culture. Moreover, overseas warfare plays yet another important role for Americans: it allows them to unleash their racist prejudices outside America, towards countries and peoples that are sufficiently alien to the American fabric. Think about how frustrating it must be today for the average cracker, for the would-be Trent Lott, for the unrepentant Strom Thurmond who can't lash out at the n**gers and the sp*cks like in the "good old days"... Even that icon of bigotry, the National Review, ran an editorial titled "Lott Must Go!".... But thank God, America's supremacists STILL have a ray of hope: somewhere in the Middle East, there's a country where the White Man's Burden is challenged again, somewhere in that remote and hostile wilderness, there's a tiny, "fragile" outpost valiantly defended by fellow white men against barbaric n**gers. Yes, it's STILL possible to be racist, it's still possible to vent your hate on nonwhite scum, it's still possible for Americans to boast their racial superiority for the sake of a Just, HOLY cause --just be a Zionist. Wrap your racial hatred and bigotry into the noble mantle of the Love of Israel and your racist trip can get a new life.
