I just bought an Xbox--for about a third of the price of a budget PC.

With a five year old PII, I run Microsoft Me,
and use the machine for IE, wordprocessing,
email, and older PC games.

With the Xbox, I play a game called Morrowind--
a RPG quest-oriented game, from Bethesda
(the folks who brought us the bug riddled
Daggerfall/for PC). The Xbox game seems not
to have bugs--way better than PC gaming!

While I don't expect to buy a new PC for a long
time, I may snag another Xbox (the mark II)
for a few hundred bucks several years from now.

I'm not sure I would want to own Dell or Gateway
shares in the years ahead--not saying that the
consoles are PC killers, but the upgrade
cycle is really going to get stretched out.
Just a thought.

Now if I could just get a keyboard for my Xbox...
