I would like to chime in on the "need for speed" discussion. We have heard the argument before and it has so far been proven wrong. My personal philosophy has been to buy the biggest and fastest at the time and stretch my use for as long as possible. Gradually, I find that somethings I want to do I really cannot do on my machine. Thus, even a penny-pincher PC buyer finds the need for a new machine. Right now I am missing having USB, enough ram, enough HD and have to prayer of making full use of the latest graphics, games, net items. At prices today it makes sense to do a full upgrade rather than to try adding ram and HD to the existing box. That only takes me part of the way. Peripherals gradually become USB so the periperal upgrade ability begins to be constrained. This is only a personal case - business users must feel the pressure to upgrade to a much greater extent.
