Corning announced new optical processor and interleave DWDM products today. Corning's new optical signal processor can increase the transfer distance for the optical signal at least five times without reconditioning the signals. GLW is the KING for fiberoptics and passive fiberoptic components.|
I guess AVNX is late and facing more and more competitions now.
The GLW's new device involved a method to equalize polarization distortion for the optical signals. They try to cancel the distortion by a phase
compensation. GLW's volume and technology are real and it is in volume production now.
In addition, Corning also announced interleave DWDM products today. Using the interleave technology developed by Corning engineers, GLW is able to make 50 Ghz DWDM filters using 100 Ghz thin film filters, which reduces the cost for DWDM filter significantly.
GLW will demo their new processor during the upcoming OFC conf.
While AVNX is still flighting with their new-processor, Giant Corning is going to move ahead to further distance Corning's lead in fiberoptics technology from their small competitors like avnx...
