Clayton Williams Energy (CWEI) is an Oil Exploration and
Producer. Earnings for 1996 were $1.77 and CWEI is selling at 7
times earnings. CWEI is presently performing a 3-D seismic survey
in search of Cotton Valley formation pinnacle reef wells. A single
pinnacle reef well has the potential to double the size of the
company. In the meantime the company continues to improve its
production in the Austin Chalk formation and has recently added a third
