Currently I’m using a proprietary scan that searches for the most extreme combinations of heavy short interest and low relative liquidity. This scan is then coupled with my own TA and research to further refine short interest breakouts that are happening now.
It should be no surprise to anyone that stocks with lots of short interest could have an explanation as to why investors are betting against the company. Due diligence is necessary to discover any potential pitfalls the company might experience in the near future.
In addition, diversification and stop market orders should be used for your own portfolio preservation. I do not invest more than 2% of my trading capital for any stock recommended on this board and I use a trailing stop for all trades. These recommendations are for short term swing trading and are not considered long term investments.
