With some 10,000 products on its roster, Harvard Bioscience makes tools that aid in the drug-development process. One focus is protein purification. Another focus is ADMET (absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, and toxicology): It sells tests to screen drug candidates for these qualities. Subsidiary Biochrom makes instruments such as spectrophotometers, amino acid analyzers, and protein calculators. The firm sells its products directly in Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the US, and through distributors elsewhere around the world. APBiotech has a distribution deal with the firm and accounts for almost 40% of its sales. Christopher Dick controls 25% of the firm; CEO Chane Graziano owns nearly 20%.
