Return to WDC, NAND, NVM, enterprise storage systems, etc.

Western Digital has been building their flash capacity for several years now. They have just capped it by buying Sandisk, one of the leading vendors of NAND and NAND based products. WDC's product line now includes hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), direct attached storage solutions, personal cloud network attached storage solutions, and public and private cloud data center storage solutions. This forum will talk about everything related to WDC's many product lines, as well as things that might cannibalize those businesses (e.g., NVM, Xpoint, ReRAM and other futuristic inventions). Which includes a lot of topics.

Let the talk flow freely, as long as it is at least roughly on topic. No ad hominem silliness. And no politics whatsoever--keep that stuff on outta here.
