Welcome, this forum is focused solely on value investing. We are looking to make deep value investments and want to get sets of eyes on your ideas.

The foundations are set by Graham and Dodd, Fisher, Buffett, Munger, Marks, Browne and the rest of the gang.

To make things easier to reference please post the security that you are interested in discussing in the following manner.

Your Recommendation:

Buy BRKB - Berkshire Hathaway PE 20.8 and why you think its a buy or sell

To Counter

Hold BRKB - Terrific company that is overpriced at the moment no buy until XXXX price and why

To Counter Counter

Buy BRKB - Continued acquisitions will add value to shareholders and justify the premium paid in 2 years

The Do's: Stocks, bonds, spin-offs, arbitrage opportunities are all welcome. Please ensure you have sufficient debt coverage (2-1 at minimum), good free cash-flows, P/Es around 10 (unless you can justify higher because of share repurchases etc.). One time bad news events are welcome just avoid the 7 year turn around story.

The Don't: We don't do IPOs, startups, tech, pharma, shady leadership, labor problems, endless turn around stories, and overly complex annual statements i.e.Enron.

I use the Value Line survey for baseline metrics; anything that doesn't meet the criteria will be cut (no offense to anyone just trying to keep the posts to a minimum, some subjects simply are no longer searchable when they hit 144,567 posts.

Please keep sidebar conversations in a private chat.
Have fun !
