Uranium Energy Corp. Chief Executive Officer, President, Director
Mr. Adnani is a founder of Uranium Energy Corp and has been the President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director of the Company since January 2005. Mr. Adnani is an entrepreneur with a background in business development and marketing. In 2004, he founded Blender Media Inc. where he served as the President and a director until 2006. Blender Media is a Vancouver based company that provides strategic marketing and financial communications services to public companies and investors in mineral exploration, mining, and energy sectors. In 2005, Blender Media was named one of the fastest growing companies in Canada by Profit magazine. In 2001, Mr. Adnani co-founded and until 2004 was a director and officer of Fort Sun Investments Inc., a leading strategic marketing firm providing services to small and mid-cap public companies. Mr. Adnani holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia.
Chief Operating Officer, Director
Mr. Anthony is an internationally recognized expert in the uranium industry. Mr. Anthony has been a professional engineer for 36 years, the latter 30 of which, he has been at the forefront of multiple aspects of the uranium industry.
Mr. Anthony is particularly noted as being a pioneer of the emerging extraction technology for the uranium mining sector known as In Situ Recovery, or ISR. ISR is a significantly less costly and less environmentally obtrusive technique for mining uranium than any other method currently in use. He has been involved with every notable ISR uranium mine in the US and abroad, at all levels of development, including feasibility, design, operations, and management.
Mr. Anthony was a senior officer and director of Uranium Resources Inc, a public company, and a significant uranium producer in the US. During his 20-year tenure at URI, he was responsible for all technical aspects of mine development. He has also provided technical services and mine plans for companies such as Union Carbide, Urangesellschaft, Kennecott, Rio Algom, Heathgate Resources, and others.
Mr. Anthony is a sought-after speaker on uranium and related issues, having written and presented numerous reference papers on behalf of leading internationally recognized bodies including the IAEA. He is a current and past member of several professional uranium-related societies. Mr. Anthony has a BSc and MSc in Engineering Mechanics from Pennsylvania State University.
Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer
During the past five years Mr. Obara has worked as a consultant to several private and publicly listed companies providing various consulting services in the areas of corporate finance and administration. Prior to April of 2004 Mr. Obara served as the Chief Financial Officer and a director of two public companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. Mr. Obara was involved in the restructuring, organizing and management of these development stage companies which were involved in the resource and technology sectors.
Bruce J. Nicholson
Bruce J. Nicholson, CFA, has spent 15 years as an industry specialist in the basic materials and metals and mining industries working for major U.S. and European global banks, broker dealers, and investment funds. Mr. Nicholson has worked as a securities analyst for Bank of New York, BNP Paribas, and Citigroup. He also worked for 4 years in the investment field for DWS Investments (Deutsche Bank's asset management arm) and a resources focused hedge fund specializing in global investments in the metals and mining industry.
Mr. Nicholson was Chairman of the New York Section of the Society for Mining Exploration (SME) from 2007-08. At SME, Mr. Nicholson organized the annual NY nuclear renaissance meeting with global experts on uranium and nuclear issues from Cameco, Exelon, TradeTech and others. At BNP Paribas, he advised the bank’s New York commodity group on matters pertaining to the uranium sector and interfaced with a global team of in-house geologists and commodity traders.
Mr. Nicholson is a member of the Minerals Economics and Management Society (MEMS), Minerals Industry Analyst Group (MRAG), and New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA). Mr. Nicholson graduated with a M.B.A. degree in Finance from Rutgers University in 1995 and is a CFA charterholder.
Mr. Lindsay a co-founder of Uranium Energy Corp. has served as Chairman of the Company since December 2005. He is also a founder of MIV Therapeutics and from 2000 to present has been the Chairman of MIV Therapeutics where he also served as President and CEO until January 2008. MIVT is a publicly traded bio-medical Company recently awarded the prestigious Frost and Sullivan 2005 and 2008 Award for Technology Innovation in the field of Medical Coatings and in 2006 MIVT was appointed to Fortune 500's Top 100 Nanotechnology Companies. Mr. Lindsay was a founder of AZCO Mining and served as chairman, president and CEO of AZCO from 1992 to 2000. The company was listed on the Toronto and American Stock Exchanges. During his tenure at AZCO, the Company sold the Sanchez copper deposit to Phelps Dodge for $55 million and established a joint venture with Phelps Dodge on the Piedras Verdes copper deposit with 2.1 billion pounds of copper reserves. Mr. Lindsay also co-founded Anatolia Minerals Development and New Oroperu Resources, two publicly traded companies with significant gold discoveries. Mr Lindsay has been chairman of TapImmune since December 2005 and has helped reorganize the company and arranged for the acquisition of the technology from The University of British Columbia.
Ivan Obolensky has 40 years experience in the investment banking business as a financial analyst, with specific expertise in the defense aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear power, metals and minerals, publishing and high technology industries. He has been an executive of several investment banks, including Sterling Grace & Co., Jesup, Josephthal & Co., Dominick and Dominick, Inc., Middendorf Colgate, and CB Richard Ellis Mosley Hallgarten. Currently, Mr. Obolensky is a Vice President of Shields & Company, an Investment Bank and Member of the New York Stock Exchange.
Ivan Obolensky is a Registered Investment Advisor and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He has made frequent appearances as a guest on CNBC, CNNfn, and Bloomberg TV. Mr. Obolensky is also a member of various foundations and philanthropic organizations, and serves as Chairman and CEO of the Soldiers’ Sailors’ Marines’ and Airmen’s Club in New York. He is a graduate of Yale University and a retired Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in the U.S. Naval Air Corps.
Mr. Essiger has 18 years of extensive international business experience, providing professional advisory services in the field of mergers & acquisitions to corporate clients in the energy sector, media and telecommunications, as well as business services. His proven expertise includes corporate finance, strategic decision-making, corporate restructuring and management, having served as executive or board member to several private and public companies worldwide. He also served a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Frankfurt, Germany.
In 1995 Mr. Essiger became member of the German – Russian Cooperation Council. Prior to that he was consultant to the German Federal Government. Mr. Essiger is fluent in both English and German.
Vincent della Volpe
Mr. Della Volpe has a long and distinguished career. He has served as a professional money manager for 38 years including senior portfolio manager of pension funds for Honeywell Corporation and senior vice president of the YMCA Retirement Fund in New York with responsibilities for several billion dollars in assets. In his experience, Mr. Della Volpe has particularly focused on the management of energy and utility equities portfolios. His expertise includes management of significant venture capital investments. Mr. Della Volpe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and an MBA in Finance, both from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.
Mr. Katsumata is a Certified General Accountant in Canada with an extensive background in both U.S. and Canadian accounting and regulatory procedures specifically pertaining to mining. Mr. Katsumata will also serve on the Company’s Audit Committee as its Chairman. His extensive involvement with financial statement audits of small to mid-level resource companies, including a number of well established companies, helped set the course for Mr. Katsumata's career. Since 1994, Mr. Katsumata has served as the chief financial officer/vice president, finance for a number of publicly-listed companies, including Denison Mines Corp, where he was responsible for managing all financial and tax matters.
