Cereplast, Inc. develops and commercializes bio-based resins in the United States. Its product includes Cereplast Compostables resins, which is substitutes for petroleum-based plastics targeting primarily single-use disposables and packaging applications. The company also offers Cereplast Hybrid Resins that replace up to 50% of the petroleum content in conventional plastics with bio-based materials, such as industrial starches sourced from plants for use in a range of markets, including automotive, consumer goods, consumer electronics, medical, packaging, and construction. Its resins are also used in various conventional converting processes, including injection molding, thermoforming, blow film, blow molding, and extrusion.
