Touch America, the name chosen by Montana Power for its new fiber optic network, has put together a state-of-the-art system, primarily in the mid-west and west coast areas. Unlike other long distance/local networks, MTP, which sold all its electric utility and related assets to build its fiber optic network, is DEBT FREE.

The purpose of this discussion is to compare the investment potential of MTP with competitors such as MCI Worldcom, Qwest, Sprint, and AT&T.
