The electronic commerce company, created by former Disney executive Edward Lenk and idealab! founder Bill Gross, carries over 700 brands and more than 8,500 toys. They include nationally advertised brands as well as obscure specialty items that are not available in most traditional toy stores and toy superstores. The cyberstore offers customers convenience (eliminating a trip to the toy store), database search capabilities (for type of toy, age, price), and gift wrap and delivery services. idealab!, an Internet company incubator, owns about 29%of eToys.
