I have never seen such strong fundamentals and performance (i.e. strong rev. and earnings growth) as I have seen with Lam Research. I understand that semis are not doing so hot right now, but I still don't understand Lam Research's piss poor performance (its stock price) for the past 18 months. They sold more stock about 18 months ago at $38 a share and even when semis were doing good and their rev. and earnings up over 50% the stock still only went to $70 (a PE of only 20). I have seen other stocks go skyrocking when their earnings were doing as well as Lam's. Now, when semis aren't doing so well Lam's stock price falls by 60%. What's really going on with this company?
Management doesn't seem to care at all (they only own about 2% of outstanding) and doesn't seem to have a clue as to what to do about it (I have called investor relations several times, Ringler is never avalable, nor does he return his phone calls even though people here claim he has given them information about Lam's next quarterly earnings, hey, Ringler why don't you tell us all about your next quarterly earnings? or do you only have a few privileged investors that get your time). Or is it that they know their company is screwed up, but they just aren't telling their investors or the SEC (10k and 10Qs). It makes sense to me that if the company cared and knew they were a good company they would want to do something about their stock price.
May be we will get lucky and someone will buy them out. Assumming this is a good company, someone could buy it at rock bottom. If that happens I say good riddance to those extremly high paid cry babies in the ivory towers at Lam.
Finally, to those uninformed people at Lam's investor relations group: your investors care about one thing and that's stock price appreciation leave the PR crap for your marketing department.
