I was amazed to find that there is no thread here on Schlumberger.
I don't own any of their stock yet, but this is the premier oil service company in the world. It's main competitor in the wireline division, Dresser Atlas, is a long way behind compared to the revenue that Schlumberger gets. Also, SLB is very aggressive in buying other companies that fit into it's overall plan.
I welcome discussion on this "gorilla" of oil service companies.
