Shatterproof OLED displays are supposed to debut in 2013 as well.

Both features would be absolutely great for consumers, but it will have at least some negative impact on the replacement rate.

I hope that Apple gets on this first, and exclusively, if possible. It's an absolute killer feature. The first time I heard about it I was excited. But I hadn't realized that actual products were so close to being available.
I hope so too. But, I haven't seen any signs of Apple locking up the technology and I don't think it is quite ready to meet the needs of Apple's production scale. However, I could see it showing up in an Android "limited edition" (as they all are) phone. Android OEMs have shown many times that they are willing to rush to market with things that aren't ready for prime time. Just think LTE.

Like I said in my previous message, though, it doesn't really matter to me on my ZAGG holding since I am already making money and will make a lot more if the technology begins showing up in any mobile phone.
