Ouch, how do you troubleshoot a computer if the keyboard doesn't work? What was the operator error you ran into?
The keyboard didn't work only when I tried to select the hackintoshed install flash card. (F12 upon boot). So I read up on it this morning, booted into bios via the delete key, and activated the keyboard, which was turned off. After that, back into F12, selected the hackintoshed Lion stick and bingo.
I had considered keeping Snow Leopard in a virtual machine after upgrading to Lion (which I haven't done yet), but apparently the process isn't easy. Parallels won't do it without a lot of hoops to jump through and I haven't tried VirtualBox for it.
I wanted to run SL via Parallels on my Lion MBP but it won't do it at all, with a standard Snow Leopard. Have to own a physical copy of the server version, with is amazingly expensive.
I decided it was best just to leave all my PPC apps behind when the time comes and move ahead without Snow Leopard.
That's the way it is with my MBP. All Lion, all the time. But, glad I still have the Dell Mini 9 and the large hack running Snow Leopard. Couldn't scan or print otherwise. Lion does not play ball with my Canon printer/scanner.

OK, I borked it. :-)

Separately downloaded the 10.7.4 updater and ran it. Thought that would work swimmingly.

Oops. Dead wrong!

Back to square one.

Luckily, all my data and programs are still on the Lion HD, so I just have to run the hacked Lion installer again, as I am doing now.

Bummer. Thought the update would go smooth as butter, like it did with Snow Leopard, to the latest greatest there.

Nope.

I'll figure it out. And when I do, I'll be a hackintosh champ! :-)

Not today. Had a beer. :-)
