He's grown up as a sit-com star. I haven't seen tonight's show yet. So don't anybody tell me who goes.

I read that Jaleel stepped on Kim's foot and reacted with a "don't be a big baby" when she was upset. It got heated after that and was fine by the next day. You know the media is looking for ANYTHING to report on these contestants. That may have been the reason he ended up in the bottom two. If Roshon ends up at the bottom the next couple of weeks, this new format should save him for a couple of weeks. He can out dance all but the top three, I think. The dance off is an ENORMOUS improvement, IMO.

I have been meaning to comment on the production and staging of the show. The show spends a ton on production and it looks it. The staging has become spectacular. They had a problem with the band at one end blocking off acts they wanted to bring in. So they put a stage at both ends and raised the height of the audience to three stories. Now they no longer have to video acts they bring in before the live show and insert them. Makes for a lot smoother show. It gives the show a "bandbox" appearance, which is very pleasing. Looks like an old Viennese Opera house.

I remember a few series back one of the older Celebs commented when she lost that "this was the best produced show she had ever been on," and I remember thinking she had been on TV shows for decades, so she should know. They spend the money backstage to keep everybody comfortable.

Colton never interested me. The little girls must have tired of him too.

Shiver me timbers! No one saw this coming…except a friend of mine.

Two OMG nights two weeks in a row

Tonight’s results, like top 9 last season, I guess is at least some proof that the show is not fixed. One thing for sure last week and this week could not have been scripted any better for shock value. Man you know the odds makers love the hell out of this. They just made out with a bunch of people’s money with this result.

As a web writer I always am interested in other writer’s opinions so I naturally scour the net soon after I pen my snarky thoughts. I did not see anyone calling this one except for Dial Idol. I guess it’s true that even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then. Oh yeah and a friend of mine, Mark called it today when we went out to lunch. In fact Elise was such a consensus to go I was ready for it and had resolved myself to saying good bye until the tour or the finale. Well I won’t keep you in suspense any longer. I know since you are reading this you don’t know what happened right? Here’s how it all went down.

We start the night with the group song. Yes they’re “Dancing In the Streets”. And for you So You Think You can Dance fans you will notice Hok strutting his stuff on the bleachers. It was pretty good. Elise sounded especially good even though they gave what seemed to be the lion’s share of the song to Skylar.

Next we have our Ford commercial and I really like this one. They go star gazing and see themselves as constellations. Cool. That’s where my header came from tonight. Isn’t that a cool shot?

Down to bidness. The first two up for judgment are Hollie and Joshua. They both look so jocular. That’s about to change.

Joshua is safe and Hollie fills up the first stool of doom.

And look who’s in the audience and going to play Vegas, Taylor Hicks. Now there’s a match made in entertainment heaven. But Taylor forgot to say where he would be playing. I won’t know what venue to avoid when I go to Vegas. Maybe that was the idea. Just kidding you Taylor fans. He introduces Kris Allen.

Kris sings the first single from his new CD “Vision Of Love”. And I really like it. Really. This time I’m not kidding.

Next up for the good news bad news are Elise and Skylar.

Elise is to no one’s surprise in the bottom 3 with Hollie. Skylar escapes to the safe bench.

Hollie ans Elise occupy the stools for now. So far everything is going according to plan.

We now get a proper tribute to Dick Clark. You guys know how much money he left behind? I’ll give you a hint; He was nowhere near the 99%.

We then get the specter of LMFAO. I really didn’t need that. I just ate some Mexican food. But hey didn’t that dude on the clown glasses look a little like Elliot Yamin with a wig and glasses?

We have our last 3 of Jessica, Colton, and Phillip.

With the usual tease Ryan lets Jessica know she is safe.

So that leaves us with Colton and Phillip and one will be in the bottom 3 for the first time. Something I never thought would happen.

So Colton is in the bottom 3 and Phillip is safe. So can we just call it now? Phillip is running ironically the same course Taylor ran season 5; Middling performances, quirkiness, and never hit the bottom. I suspect the same result and I would also bet the same CD sales result. Sorry Phillip fans. I like the guy but he is nowhere near the best in this contest.

So we have our bottom 3 of Elise, Colton, and Hollie. Who looks most worried? Let me rephrase that; Who should be the most worried?

Anyway Ryan takes Elise by the hand and leads her over to the stools and puts the old fashioned hooey on her and I swear she was ready to cry. He then lets her know she is safe. Audible gasp from the peanut gallery.

Down to our bottom 2 of Hollie and Colton and who looks worried now? Not Hollie I think she has resigned herself to going home.

So Colton is ……going home?

Look at the reaction of Hollie first……

then Phillip. His face says what the …. but his mind is going “Damn I got this thing in the bag now”. It also looks like Elise is holding him back or holding him up.

Then we have the judge’s reaction. Well at least J Lo didn’t grab the mic out of his hand when he sang out.

As Colton watches his funeral video it’s clear that it hurts more than he initially let on.

It looks like Hollie was the most upset by his elimination. This might be the cat out of the bag situation. It might actually be the real Colton relationship on Idol not Skylar. What do ya think?

He sings out with his favorite worship song.

So now we are down to one who has yet to see the bottom. Season 5 when Chris Daughtry hit the bottom, top 7, it left Taylor the only one who had not been in the bottom 3. This is the only other season only one Idol had not seen the bottom so early. Every other season either the top 2 never hit the bottom or hit it like top 4 or 5. Season three had everyone already in the bottom by top 7 including eventual winner Fantasia. So if I were Phillip I’d start making my plans for the trophy. The pawn shop is about to get a makeover.

The exit of Colton was strangely reminiscent of Siobhan’s boot; Never a clue of going home, never been in the bottom, considered one of the frontrunners. In fact the odds makers had him for the win with less than a 2/1 bet. One has to wonder how this happened. Could it be that this might turn back into a singing contest?

Is it Wednesday yet?
