Saw a big washout this morning, guy with big excavator thought he'd snap off the top of an old windfall, make things neat, but that shifted the root wad which turned out to be key piece of a dam holding back quite a few acre-feet of water ... made for unhappiness downstream, mud and brown water all over fresh plantings on what was clearly a floodplain, everybody involved could have planned better ... same as in economics, pays to think ahead |
