I also had a close call like that but in a different way - my wife fell in love with a home a block off a major hightway and the salesperson said the end lot next to it would not be built on. Fortunately, we chose the home we are in now. Turns out a little later a home was built on that end lot and a shopping center went up right next to the home. That was a close call.
