So the gist of it all is that in the future we may have a very cheap photovoltaic cell made of TiO nanomaterial, as well as much cheaper batteries to complement an "off-the-grid system.

If --with this or other similar alternative technology--- costs of photovoltaic cells are reduced 90%, then we would be close to an energy revolution

I hope they succeed with their research. Certainly Professor Michael Graetzel and the "Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne" have all my respects.

I read somewhere that the amount of solar energy that falls on earth in a single day is larger than all the energy contained by all fossil fuels deposits that exist on earth.

Besides this technology would solve Investorman´s air conditioning problem.
